DISCOVER NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION

PROVIDED BY JESSCIA TURK, LCSW

Why I chose to be trained in Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP):

My passion is helping people develop life skills that strengthen connections, build trust, and foster safety in relationships — both with themselves and with the world around them.

Through balance you find connection:

  • SSP is a restorative listening program designed to reset your nervous system to a state of regulation, attunement, and felt safety.
  • A flexible nervous system is more open to feeling relaxed, comfort, and connection.
  • We are designed to survive.
  • Some nervous systems can become stuck in survival mode.
  • Everything feels likes a threat, overwhelming, scary - leaving us left to fight, flight, fawn. feezed, or faint regularly.
  • Nobody needs to live in survival mode.
  • Through evidence-based filtered music designed to act as a non-invasive acoustic vagal nerve stimulator retuning the autonomic nervous system so you can feel more connected and balanced - in harmony with life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at infohiw@hiwtherapies.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, regulation, and social engagement through filtered music. This listening therapy acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator that retunes the autonomic nervous system to improve connection, collaboration, and resilience. The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones in partnership with a provider either in person or remotely. The music of the SSP is unlike any other. Each track has been filtered through a patented algorithm that highlights specific sound frequencies that are similar to the human voice. As you listen to the music of the SSP, these highlighted frequencies send cues of safety to retune your nervous system, which can help you feel more settled, engaged and balanced. - Unyte

Introduction to Polyvagal Theory:

The SSP was designed and patented by the author of, Polyvagal Theory: the Science of Feeling Safe Developed by world-renowned researcher and Unyte’s Chief Scientific Advisor, Dr. Stephen Porges, Polyvagal Theory focuses on what is happening in the with our autonomic nervous system, and explains how our sense of safety, danger or life-threat can impact our behavior.  Understanding Polyvagal Theory gives us a scientific framework that can be applied through physiological, or “bottom-up” therapies, to help change and improve how we feel, think and connect with others.
